Tender automation
A private service for a company that bids in public procurement. It collects the history of tenders and contracts on its own, keeps a database of other suppliers and, before each tender, shows who is likely to compete — with the reasons and contact details.
The service holds real data about the client and other companies, so there are no screenshots or demo here — just a description of how it works.
How it works
- Data collectionOn a schedule, the program pulls tender and contract history through a procurement analytics API, staying within the daily request limits.
- PostgreSQL databaseCompanies and sole traders, their contracts, amounts and contacts. Every fact keeps its source, and anything unconfirmed is marked as such.
- Competitor matchingA staff member picks a tender — the service checks its terms against the database and suggests likely competitors, with the reasons for each.
- PDF reportA ready-made report to download: candidates, contacts and what still needs checking.
- Browser dashboardPassword login, filters and company profiles. Staff notes are kept and never overwritten by updates.
Results and next steps
- Instead of a spreadsheet compiled by hand, a competitor database that keeps itself up to date.
- The hardest part was combining data from different sources: not mixing up companies, not losing contacts and keeping verified facts apart from unverified ones.
- The service doesn’t guess who will bid — it gives a well-reasoned list that’s easy to work with.
- Next: finding new suitable tenders and a preliminary cost estimate based on past projects.
